The inside of that case is as special as the outside!
I’m not really a heavy metal fan but it’s a stunning Bass.
Unfortunately the new nut I ordered isn’t big enough. I can’t find a large enough Black TUSQ one from any of my regular suppliers so I’ve had to order one from the USA.
The new blank is a little thin but at least it’s long enough.
In fact a little too long so I’ll have to take a little off the end.
It doesn’t have slots marked so I need to mark them myself…..
and start the slots.
While the strings are off I gave the fretboard a good clean…
and oil.
With the new strings fitted I next checked the set in the neck. I was a little excessive.
so a turn or two on the truss-rod.
The slots in the new nut now need to be cut down to the right depth.
Then, with the action at the 1st fret set, it’s time to adjust the bridge height (measured at the 12th fret).
With the outside 2 strings set then re-set the inner two to match the radius of the fretboard.
Lastly check the intonation, which was way off.
A quick clean and its ready to Rock n Roll again.
