This one’s seen some service and needs a little TLC..
Frets are a little worn for a start, not terribly even either so a dress will sort both problems. While I’m at it a bone nut, the old one’s a bit wonky anyway. It’s got to come out to do the dress anyway. With the neck perfectly flat…..level off the frets, re-shape and polish.Next the new nut. Although you can get pre-shaped blanks the radius of the bottoms don’t always match the fretboard and slot. With the new nut fitted all I need to do is a setup..
No.1 Neck relief..Just a small turn on the truss-rod. The trem’ was sitting rather high so I tightened up the springs.
No.2 then the action height at the 12th fret.
No.3 the action at the 1st fret. Since the nut is new it’ll take a bit of work to get it down to where I want it.
After that check the intonation and pickup heights and it’s good to go.
