Eastcoast – clean and setup

Not a bad little one this, I’m not sure about the colour of the neck, I don’t think I’ve seen such an orange finish before!  All it needs is good clean and setup though.

d-01

All it needs is a little time to pull each part out and clean it thoroughly.

d-04

Not forgetting the frertboard…

d-17

That also includes cleaning the switch and pots’

d-03With it all back together now it’s time to check the setup, starting with the tremolo, which was sitting a little high.

d-05

so tighten up the springs in the back.

d-06

That’s better.

d-09

Next the neck set, rather too curved…

d-07

so tighten up the truss-rod.

d-10

Having done that the action at the 12th fret was now much too low…d-11

so raise the bridge.  I start at the outside “E” strings……

d-12

and then set the rest to match the radius of the bridge to the radius of the fretboard.

d-13

Then the action at the 1st fret, which was fine.

d-14

Now the intonation, to make sure it sounds “In-tune” all the way up and down the neck.

d-15

Last of all the pickup heights.
