Had a very nice one across the bench this week. Ticks the “would I want this one in the collection” box.
I’m not sure where it’s been but the damp has got to it. It needs a good clean and setup. The Trem’ in particular needed a good clean-up.
The bridge wasn’t too bad, but sine it was off I cleaned and oiled the screw threads.
The pots are rather rusted up as well so I took the knobs off and gave them a good clean.
Likewise the pickups are badly corroded.
The frets and fretboard also need a good clean.
Once cleaned I gave the fretboard some lemon oil.
The machine heads were a little dry so I gave them a drop or two of oil.
With it all clean just a turn here and a wedge there to give it a nice playable setup,
Neck set…
Action at the 1st fret…
Action at the 12th Fret…
Lastly the Intonation and pickup heights.
There we go, ready to Rock for another 30 years…
