Want an Electro-acoustic? Rather than trade in your much loved old acoustic for one you can plug-in, how about an upgrade? I did exactly that for the owner of this Fender. Not exactly complicated, just a little time consuming to get right.
The first part is to cut the hole for the pre-amp…
With the hole cut, it needs a little reinforcing to make sure the side is strong enough to support the amp.
I cut a couple of strips of wood and shaped them to match the shape of the sides…… 
and glued them inside the body.
Next the saddle. The pickup is about 5/64″ thick so I need to take that much off the bottom of the saddle otherwise the action height will rise up.
With the strings back it was still little high……
There was still plenty of height above the bridge left in the saddle so I took a little more off…
The third element is the jack socket, got to be able to plug it in!
Just there I think…
There we go, job done.
