Gibson seem to be sorting themselves out.  This 2016 Les Paul’s lovely.  The owner has changed over the pickups but wants some fancy wiring options.

The first thing is to remove the Gibson modular electronics package with it’s push/pull pots’.

I much prefer push/push pots’, I sometimes find it difficult to grip the knobs and pull them up.

I also had to replace the cable to the switch, the old one wasn’t quite long enough.

This is what I’m going for…

I started off with the pots mounted on a piece of card, to get as much of the fiddly bits done before mounting them in the control cavity.

And that’s it all in place, looks a bit of a mess but it works…

A last check of the pickup heights, since they’ve only been recently fitted.

With each pickup coil tapped, a series/parallel switch and a phase switch I make that 48 different switch options!
