Tokai Acoustic – Tidy up

This one has had a bit of a whack so needs a little bit of TLC.

There’s a big chunk of the binding missing and some quite deep gauges in the fretboard.

One of the bracings is also split a little.

Getting the glue in there is quite easy but clamping it in place was a problem.  In the end I cut an old lolly stick to just the right length to wedge it in place while it dried.

That was an easy fix then in the end.

The bracing was a little more complicated.  cut a new piece of binding, glue it into place and then use a cabinet scraper to blend it in.  Some wood filler in the gaps and gauges…

Once it dries sand it back to blend it in, and drill a small hole for the fret marker.

Perhaps not an invisible repair, but functional.  Playable at least.
