A nicely put together guitar…
just a rather high playing action….
Looking at the neck I think it had a little too much set in it as well.
so the first thing I did was to bring that down.
The only way to reduce the action is to take a little off the bottom of the bridge saddle. Rather than use the existing plastic one I’m going to make new one from bone which will improve the tone as well
Once I got the basic shape I sharpened the top to correctly intonate the strings.
While the strings were off I also gave the fretboard a good clean….
and a little oil.
There’s the new saddle in place…..
The action at the top end was fine, didn’t need any work…
So there it is. A lot easier to play and sounding better too.
A comment from the owner:
“Can’t thank you enough. Improved the tone and vastly improved the playability. Will certainly be back for a bone nut in the future.“
