One for the Metal fans, not quite my cup of tea but still deserves the same time and attention as anything else. Nothing badly wrong with it mind you, just needs a nip here and a tuck there…
The action at the 1st fret was a little high to start with. Trouble is, with a locking nut like this, the only way to drop the action is to remove it and shave some wood from underneath.
Making sure it’s kept flat and level…
While the strings were off I gave it a good clean and oil…
Once the strings were back all that’s needed is a standard setup, starting with the tremolo, which was sitting rather high.so I tightened the springs a little..
The action at the 12th fret was about right,
It just needed a minor turn of the screw.
Floyd Rose Tremolos can be a bit of a pain, but nothing that can’t be solved with a little time and patience.
