As a cheaper guitars go these Encores are not bad. This one just needs a bit of a clean and setup.
The action at the first fret is OK….
but the set in the neck is huge, you could drive a coach and horses under there!!
The action at the 12th fret is also huge. Once the set in the neck is reduced it’ll bring it down a little but I’ll need to reduce the saddle quite a bit.
The frets aren’t too bad, one or two are a little high but not too bad.
The top is a little grubby, but nothing some cleaner and polish won’t fix.
The same with the fret-board. Some steel wool and lemon oil and it’ll be as good as new.
Once its good and clean the next job is to reduce the height of the saddle…
Back in place.
That’s about as low as I can go without having to reduce the top of the bridge.
Once that’s done a couple of turns on the truss-rod and its good to go.
