A nice acoustic. Plays nicely but could be better.
Unusually the set in the neck was very low, “off the peg guitars” tends to be the other way, too much of a curve. My feeler-gauges are even too slim to even measure it…Slackening the truss-rod a little easily sorted that out…
That’s better. The action at the 1st fret was OK apart from the treble E side which was a little low causing some buzzing. The best fix is to replace the nut although it’s possible to pack the low slot with bone dust and superglue, a cheaper fix but does the job. With the neck set done the action height is just a little high. The only way to reduce that is to take a shade off the bottom of the bridge saddle. This ones needs about this much off…..You could use a power sander but although it’s quick it’s also difficult to keep it perfectly flat and even. Since this doesn’t need much I’ll do it by hand.As it’s got a piezoelectric pickup under the saddle it’s even more important the saddle is perfectly flat and even…and square..While the strings are off I gave the fret-board a clean and oil…There we go, ready to rock ‘n’ roll again…
