A slightly odd request, a re-fret just to change the feel of the guitar.
The neck minus the old frets.
Put a slight curve into the new fret-wire.
and fit it the old slots.
That leaves some very rough and sharp ends….
which need to be filled down evenly.
After that each fret needs finishing off individually to take away the sharp edges.
With the edges done I need to level the tops.
100% level..
Re-crown the tops…
and polish them..
The nut came out in pieces, but I was going to change it for a bone one anyway…
The action is very high so I need to cut the slots down by quite a lot..
With that done I just need to check the setup, starting with the bridge height on the 2 “E” strings..
and then the others, making sure they match the radius of the fretboard.
Lastly re-check the intonation.
And there we go, ready to rock!!!
