A great looking guitar, now plays as good as it looks…
There was nothing very wrong with it, just some slightly uneven frets and a rather high action.
First mask off the fretboard and body to protect it…
and level the fret tops.
Once the frets are re-shaped and polished I put the strings back and had a look at the setup.
Since it’s got a floating bridge I put some tape on the body so I’d know where to put it back…
The neck set was a little large so I eased the truss-rod off a little.
The action at the 1st fret was also a little high on the bass side…
so I took the E, A and D strings down a little.
The action at the 12th fret was also a little high so I took that down as well.
And another one done…
A word from the owner:
“As promised the playability of my guitar is now greatly improved thanks – Russell”
