How well does your guitar play?  This one was almost impossible.  However all it needed was a little TLC and it’s a lot better…

The frets are also a little uneven, but that’s a whole other job.

The set in the neck is huge! You could drive a coach and horses under there!

Not sure I’ve even got a feeler gauge thick enough to measure it?

Consequently the action height is massive as well….

Before I sort that lot out I’ll give it a good clean and oil…

With new, slightly lighter strings the action at the top end is a little high on the Bass E and A strings…

So I took that down a little.

The tremolo was also sitting flat on the body, so you could only bend the note down and not up.  Loosening the springs off a little…..

and its sitting nicely.

With the action height for the 2 “E” strings set I made sure the heights of the other strings also match the radius of the neck.

Finally chck the intonation and the job’s done.  A playable guitar!
