These are tough old guitars, you don’t find any more solidly built. The saddle on this one seems to have melted! I don’t know how but ‘m going to fit a new bone one.
It took a bit of work to get the old saddle out, in pieces in the end. Not that it matters, it’s no good anyway but I need the metal surround. I’ve got a blank that’s about right, the top is the same radius as the fretboard so at least that’s done.It’s a little long so I’ll trim the ends.It’s also too thick so It’ll need a little work to get it to fit.All I need to do now is put it all back together and set it all up.
The job’s a little easier as the saddle has an adjustable height.The action was a little low to start with….so the bridge needed to be wound up a little.And there we are, good to go…
