Been a quiet week, with nothing of real interest. A couple of fret-dressings. The last one a rather nice Epiphone Les Paul
The fret-dress was a routine job, as was the setup..
The neck, unusually had very little set in it…
The owner wants a fairly low action but I think it needs a little more bow in it.
The action at the 1st fret was rather high so I’ve dropped it down a little..
At the 12th frert the action was about right on the Bass side but a little high on the treble.
Once I set up the intonation all that remains is to set the pickup heights as they are a little off. As with all setup points it’s a personal preference but I think you should have slightly more volume from the bridge (lead) pickup, to give you that slight edge for those lead riffs…
A bit of a polish and that’s another job done…
